Robert A. Van Praet
Robert’s practice focuses on plaintiff personal injury, including motor vehicle accidents, wrongful death, medical malpractice, slip and falls, together with a wide range of insurance defence matters. Robert has experience in professional negligence claims and employment matters. He has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Appeal.
Robert is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Middlesex Law Association, Canadian Bar Association, Ontario Bar Association, and the Advocates’ Society, amongst other groups.
Community involvement is extremely important to Robert. He is active with the Windsor-Essex County ALS Society and his childrens’ sporting teams. Robert enjoys spending time with his wife and two children on their country property.
Robert graduated from the University of Western Ontario with an Honours BA in Political Science. He then obtained his LLB from Bond University in Australia and completed the Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (PLT with Distinction). He was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and placed on the Register of the High Court of Australia. He was called to the bar in 2005.
