Débora Brubacher
Débora brings extensive experience and a compassionate approach to every legal matter she handles. Since being called to the Ontario Bar in 2013, she has dedicated her career to guiding clients through some of life’s most challenging transitions. Her practice is focused on family law, she assists and represents clients dealing with separation, divorce, decision-making responsibility, property division, and support claims before the Ontario Court of Justice, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Ontario Court of Appeal.
In addition to litigation, Débora assists clients with relative adoptions and provides strategic advice in negotiating and drafting cohabitation, marriage, and separation agreements. She also prepares marriage opinion letters for international purposes. Her priority is to assist clients in arriving at solutions that minimize conflict and protect what matters most—their family.
Débora has a strong track record of supporting victims of domestic violence and understands the unique legal challenges these situations present. Her background in immigration law adds a valuable dimension to her family law practice, allowing her to assist clients when family and immigration issues intersect. Debora has also acted in refugee claims, appeals and judicial review before various immigration tribunals (IRB, RAD and IAD) and the Federal Court of Canada.
With a Bachelor of Laws from Centro Universitário de Brasília (UniCeub) and a Juris Doctor from the University of Western Ontario, Débora combines an international perspective with local expertise. She is fluent in English and Portuguese and conversant in Spanish, enabling her to serve a diverse clientele.
Known for her empathetic and client-focused approach, Débora ensures that every client feels heard and supported throughout their legal process. Débora is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Middlesex Law Association, and the Middlesex Family Law Association.
