Marissa S. Hurst
Marissa Hurst completed both her summer and articling terms with Brown Beattie O’Donovan. After being called to the bar in 2025, Marissa returned to BBO as an Associate and practices in their general litigation group.
Born and raised in London, Marissa completed her Bachelor’s Degree with an Honours Specialization at Western University, where her studies focused on sociology and criminology. After completing her undergraduate degree, Marissa attended the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University in Halifax, where she obtained her Juris Doctor degree.
While at Dalhousie University, Marissa was a member of the Dalhousie Student Advocacy Service where she represented students dealing with academic offence allegations, drafted submissions, and engaged in policy review. Marissa was also a part of the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee, where she conducted research on policy within the law school and in the community.
In her spare time, Marissa enjoys remaining active in the community, going to spin class, and practicing yoga.
